Film Production

This page outlines the various tasks you need to complete in conjunction with producing your finished film. These tasks will cover planning and pre-production; production/filming; post production/editing.

You will be required to evidence the process with planning documents and logs of activity.

IMPORTANT: During the production process- add blog posts which explain and illustrate different parts of the process- this may include changes or developments such as experimenting with make up, adding title sequences, special FX such as blood, adding a video effect such as CCTV or just reflection on how a certain day of filming or filming a particular scene. It can be useful to highlight how you had to re-shoot something to make it work.

 

  1. Location research

Assess each of your locations for suitability and outline potential issues in terms of production logistics and health and safety. e.g

2. Prepare release forms for all of your contributors and locations. These forms are explained in more detail here: https://stillmotionblog.com/why-release-form/

3. Kit- Make a detailed and accurate list of equipment you are using. Try and be as specific as you can about all models and brands of equipment for filming and post production. e.g

4. Props- List scenes and props required for each; list characters and costumes required by scene in the same document.

 

5. Create an overall schedule for pre-production, production and post production. Try to be be specific in terms of activity. Something like the example below but possibly over a longer time frame.
